Review of The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005) by Derek W — 11 Sep 2007
Watch helplessly a dying man get endlessly shuffled from one over burdened Romanian hospital to another...his fate regarded with such a lack of compassion as if he was never really alive at all...it is infuriating and tragic, but it is also genuinely sobering.
..this is not by any means an easy film to swallow...but dammit if it doesn't open your eyes to the hypocrisies of health care systems...i honestly found nothing funny about this film whatsoever...
I think its a travesty to be labeled as a comedy of any sort...but maybe I just took it to seriously...either way I really enjoyed it.
