Review of The Death of Mr. Lazarescu (2005) by William B — 23 Mar 2009
The Death of Mr. Lazarescu is a long film, but it is never a boring one. It tells the story of Lazarescu's final day on earth, as he is shuttled around from hospital to hospital, getting turned down by a cornucopia of nurses and doctors, all with their own agendas.
The movie is a refreshing look at hospitals, and feels more realistic, to a point, then the serialized ER, Grey's Anatomy, or other hospital shows. Definitely an engrossing piece of film, and one to ponder long after the credits have rolled.
