Naturalistic film of the horrors of public healthcare, and the half-hearted or non-existent care from characters who populate the film, especially disappointing from those who should have mattered the most to the dying Lazarescu.
Well-paced film of the night's events from home to hospital to hospitals and Lazarescu's gradual decline... the tragic streak is very evident, the comic element is almost undetectable.
