A group, led by a diminutive Latina, Victoria Cruz, finds dead end after dead end in their relentless search for the answer to Marsha P. Johnson's death thanks to an uncaring justice system overloaded with other butchered transgender people. The film slogs along at the same pace as the people attempting to find the truth.
Sadly not much has changed. We must pass this film along to our youth. Watch and learn when you hear of the deaths of transgender people that all you have to do is change the year and you'll see, we still need to fight on.
And we will.
Heroes, every single one of these patched together people like Sylvia Rivera and Victoria Cruz. We owe them our still-beating hearts.
