Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Buddy K — 03 Jun 2009
Very compelling if slightly dated psychological horror film from David Cronenberg. The movie stumbles at some points but Cronenberg provides alot of interesting visuals and Walken carries it in his best performance after his oscar winning turn in The Deer Hunter.
He doesn't always do so well in lead roles but here he brings the lead character to life and you feel for him. Martin Sheen is also great in his role. Other than that the acting ranges from good in most of the supporting roles to really bad in the minor parts.
Worth seeing though for Walken's great performance and a (for once) faithful adaptation of a Stephen King novel.
