Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by James M — 20 Jan 2010
The Dead Zone is my favourite Stephen King novel, but this adaptation is only just above average due to the amount cut from the source material due to filming/running time constraints. Christopher Walken however pulls off an excellent performance as the main character who wakes from a 5-year coma with clairvoyant ability.
Cronenberg's direction cannot be faulted either. The movie is decent, but the book is highly recommended.
