Review of The Dead Zone (1983) by Demetris H — 23 Aug 2010
Another Steven King adaptation which eventually sparked off a 6 season series. The dead zone shows us the life of a man who, after awakening from a 5 year coma, discovers he has the ability to foresee the future, experience the past and the present just by touching a persons hand. Leading this feature is a very young Christopher Walken who delivers the same quality acting we have come to expect from him in all his films - but the true star of this film is Martin Sheen. His fast talking 'man of the people' facade is superbly acted out, giving the final moments of this film a brilliant conclusion.
Overall this film has a nostalgic feel to it, with Cronenbergs eccentric style shining through in various stages. Definately recommend to any Steven King fan.
