Review of The Dead Girl (2006) by Jesper K — 15 Mar 2008
I thought this was a very interesting film in the way the narrative was created. Some of the stories were not as strong as others unfortunately and there were moments in the film that could have been cut.
Brittany Murphy is unbelievable in the role of the dead girl, she actually CAN act and this film proves that she just needs someone who can direct her. Overall, the film really hits at the societal issues of misogyny and violence against women, without coming across as heavy handed or self-righteous.
None of the characters can claim any sort of moral highground..and it's not a preachy film. Very good.
