The death of a young girl interlinks the lives of various initially unrelated characters, in this dark, atmospheric, and sadly somewhat unheard of mystery/drama. With unreal performances from Brittany Murphy and Giovanni Ribisi (two of my very favourite actors), and also from the unfailingly brilliant James Franco, 'The Dead Girl' is phenomenal for its cast alone, and even moreso for its bleak tone, fitting soundtrack, and cutting suspense.
