Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by André G — 18 Dec 2008
Despite its importance for the sci-fi genre, it's a lousy, poorly paced film. The plot is just a contrived diversion until the pedantic and somewhat contradictary final speech. Only worth it for Herrmann's underused score.
