Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Greg S — 26 Dec 2008
Tinfoil and terrorism from space. But that's not what it's about. It's a big allegory about fearing the red menace in 1950's Americuh..
It's a perfectly relavent film today, which I am guessing is one of the reasons they remade it based on the current fear of terrorism based on not knowing your enemy other than the stupid fears your peers have made up.
Anyways, good film. Well done. Well thought out. I'd really recommend watching it and thinking hard about what they are trying to show you.
