Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Kenneth H — 23 Jan 2009
A Bernard Hermann score, Robert Wise the man who brought us the absolutely brilliant 'The Haunting' and this film is probably one of the classic sci-fi movies. I had high expectations and it didn't disappoint.
Like so many of it's era the main focus is on communism and the threat of the atomic bomb but the story is engaging all the way through, the effects stand the test of time and the influences on many movies since are there for all to see.
Forget Keanu and check out this classic instead.
