Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Ken T — 23 Jun 2009
Great sci-fi film from the 50s. More depth than your average 50s sci-fi yarn, this is the tale of a man from space who warns Earth to give up all violence and get along...or else. The special effects (few that there are) are decent.
The design of the spaceship and the robot Gort are so sleek and cool. The message though is what makes this a true classic.
