Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Raynormanbateman . — 27 Sep 2009
They don't make them like this no more. I never was against CGI but this is where simplicity works better than cgi. We have characters that are interesting and a story based on fear and paranoia rather than action and distruction. Not every sci-fi film should be about destroying the white house and other famous buildings.
The score as well, very eery and works superbly. A timeless classic.
