Fantascienza sobria e pacifista anni '50. Pur avendo nella sobrietà il proprio punto di forza il film risente di uno stile recitativo accademico tipico di quel periodo. Meglio la regia delle inquadrature.
E comunque sempre meglio del remake del 2008.
