Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Salman S — 16 Feb 2010
Even though this film was made 58 years ago it still stands strong today. Many of the messages and themes of the film can still be seen in today's society, and those that are in a way outdated, are still meaningful because they not only allow an insight into the previous American mindset, but also comment on today's American society.
The effects are pretty great for a 1950's film. The writing, acting, cinematography and editing are all excellent as well. A definite must see for Sci-Fi fans.
