Review of The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) by Phillip S — 22 Feb 2010
It still looks pretty good and the anti-Nuclear message is still relevant today but unfortunately the film has not quite withstood the test of time; the reactions of most characters are totally unbelievable and distracted me enormously - seemingly a product of 50's dramatisation rather than well considered reality.
The best scenes involve the excellent Michael Renny and Billy Gray.
