Review of The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961) by Carl K — 13 Jun 2007
The title of this film gives the impression of a B flick, however it is an excellently acted British Sci Fi piece about humanity, human fragility and more importantly, Stupidity.
Janey Munro is excellent in this Film. Although Val Guest is the Lead character, his performance is probably the least sucessful and tends to pull you out of the film.
A surprisingly effective warning about placing science before nature.
A wonderful Black and white Film.
