Review of The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961) by Stephen A — 18 Nov 2007
Sharp as a tack; well-written, pacily acted and a thoughtful, downbeat sci-fi film, with accent on the sci, although as many others have said, the nemesis is a little improbable. Well worth a once-over to see just how good the British film industry could be when doing things like this; human interest, character-led films dressed up into any genre.
A Little gem. watch out for young Michael Caine, too!!
