1930's Holllywood never looked so bleak as in this adaption of Nathanael West's novel. A stellar cast and Conrad Hall's Oscar nominated Cinematography make this a must see. Screenwriter Waldo Salt bulids the tension right from the start, untill this films shocking conclusion.
