Review of The Day of the Jackal (1973) by Aaron N — 29 Mar 2008
One of those rare films in which you know the outcome right from the start...but it builds and builds and you get so involved, and inevitably start rooting for the The Jackal. His charm kind of lures you in, and you forget that you are aware of the ending.
It's well directed too, just as the book was written in the way the Jackal's meticulous preparation and planning parallels Lebel's investigation to hunt him down. A fantastic piece of film.
