Review of The Day After Tomorrow (2004) by Jake G — 08 Jun 2013
Filmgoers looking for an intelligent narrative and worthwhile, developed characters should know better than to look for them in a Roland Emmerich film, so it should come as no surprise that "The Day After Tomorrow" is lacking in both aspects.
On the other hand, as a piece of doomsday-themed, visually spectacular entertainment, it's a pretty big success. Most of the scenarios are outlandish and implausible (as they usually are in these kinds of movies), but "The Day After Tomorrow" is epic and incredible and, for the most part, substantially well-acted.
