Review of The Day After Tomorrow (2004) by Gamingt2009 — 31 Jul 2022
I actually liked this movie, but it isn't perfect. I think what this movie has that a lot of other movies don't is that it feels very ominous. The effects of this movie have been spot on. The disaster, especially at the beginning, was pretty **** amazing.
It didn't feel too intense and unreal but didn't feel like it wasn't a threat. I honestly got very nervous watching this movie, because it is incredibly real, which is the movie's biggest strong point.
I will say the movie kind of lost its intensity when it came to be so real at the end, but that doesn't mean it wasn't good, because it still was. I think easily my biggest problem was the characters.
Zack was a well-thought-out character, but everyone else either felt they were there just for the sake of being there or didn't get enough story or emotion to feel thought out. But honestly, the effects and intensity really can make up for this, be it isn't something you should ignore.
Overall, The Day After Tomorrow is anything but a perfect and amazing movie, but it's a great way to kill 2 hours of any day.
