Review of The Day After Tomorrow (2004) by Jonny Jeremias S — 12 Apr 2013
Hello, I am back again with a new film review for you. This time I saw "the day after tomorrow", but you already know that don't you?
Ok, this time I'll start by saying that this was a great movie. I have seen it before and I will see it again, and I recommend you to do so too. It seemed so realistic (believe it or not), not all of it of course, but, you know, some parts of it at least. So, that's of course a plus.
The effects were, seeing how old it is, pretty good. The shooting of the movie itself was good as well. I said that I found parts of it kind of realistic, well, I have to say other parts were so unrealistic it shook me. Luckily there weren't that many parts of those.
The story is amazing though, and I will not give away anything from the film, but it was pretty damn good. The mixture of different elements is a keypart in the making of a good film. Keyparts like action, comedy, romance, etc. This along with the "moods" like happiness, sadness, surprised, joyful etc, set's the bar. In this movie the bar of quality and amazing awesomeness were pretty high up in the sky. With all the emotions in this movie it turned out better than I thought it would (before I watched it the first time). This time I actually shed a tear or two towards the end of the movie. That does not happen often. Never happened once before I turned 20, weird.
The acting was not the best I've seen, at least from Mr. Quaid's (guy who played Jack) side. Jake Gyldenhaal on the other hand along with many of the other actors did a good job.
I'll wrap it up for you now. This movie is on my list of recommendations. It was a great movie, not perfect, but generally very good. I am not sure whether to give it 7 or 8 stars, but after 5 minutes of consideration I now landed on 8.
So, that's it. Rating: 8/10 stars.
Good night, bon soir, Buenos noches, guten nacht and god natt to my fellow Norwegian country men and woman, boys and girls.
Peace & Love.
God Bless.
