Review of The Day After (1983) by Jimmy M — 31 Dec 2010
If you have seen this movie and lived through the air raid drills, which many of us did in the 50s and 60s you may know what I mean when I say that this movie and itâ(TM)s counterpart (Threads â" The British version) were the single most scary, depressing, and horrifying movies of all time.
The reason for this to any rational individual is most clear in that the possibility remains today and some of us would probably have a difficult time sleeping at night if we knew of all the âalmostsâ? which have occurred over the years.
I do not share the view of some of my religious friends in that they believe that this was all prophesized and itâ(TM)s suppose to end this way to bring about âthe kingdomâ?. If this is what happens, it comes down to manâ(TM)s inherent need to be stupid.
It has been proven to me over and over again through the years that manâ(TM)s pettiness, jealousy, ignorance, and arrogance are what would ultimately bring such a thing to pass. We live in an age where more people have degrees in higher education than ever before but menâ(TM)s hearts have not changed from what they were back in the days of stone knives and bearskins.
It is exactly that, which will be our undoing.
