Review of The Darkest Minds (2018) by Phillipe B — 17 Nov 2018

I think we expect too much from our movies and why wouldn't we for the price we pay for them. I think a movie like darkest minds would have done fantastically well on a streaming service rather than a major motion release.

Often times in YA novels the first book is the least interesting on and getting folks who are not fans of the book past the first installment can be rough. That's being said I genuinely enjoyed the film.

It's not ground breaking as film that's for sure but for a streaming through amazon for 5 dollars I think it was the right price for the level of enjoyment I got from it. When we expect expensive films a very few types of stories can be told and new comers both Scott and directors will have a hard time breaking out.

I feel like Hollywood should know by now that a streaming service for a sci-fi show is the smartest bang for their buck.
