Another YA adaptation that makes minimum effort to stand out in a time where every other movie is based on a best selling novel and stars a 16 year old. The Darkest Minds is another sci-fi story set in a dystopian world where a teen is tasked with saving everyone.
It's so formulaic even when it comes to having a romantic subplot. If a sequel is to be made as the ending suggests, I hope a new writer and director get on board to save this sinking ship.
