Review of The Dark Tower (2017) by Yash B — 14 Aug 2017

I don't think the movie is as unwatchably bad as some reviews have lead you to believe, but it also isn't particularly great either. I liked the actions sequences in this movie were fast paced and pretty fun.

I also thought the performances weren't terrible, just the dialogue got messy in places. Idris Elba was definitely the best performance in the movie and the most authentic. Despite a few enjoyable aspects, the movie has a rushed yet slow pacing for a lot of parts and feels much longer than it is.

I also thought it doesn't really build the world as much as it seems it should. I've never read any of the source material, and that left certain aspects of this universe to be confusing. As a whole, I would say it is a decent movie that ends up leaving more to be desired.
