I thought this movie was actually good. It wasn't confusing at all, great action at the end. Critics can be poisonous and destroy a movie's success by pre-setting viewer's mindsets. This is an example of that - copycat critics and their sheep.
How on earth did this movie confuse? "Cheesy"? "Incoherent"? "Dark"? "Action sequences were hurried"? I didn't get any of that - well, maybe the "cheesy" part, but find me a fantasy/action movie that isn't just that - it's part of the definition! Did it deviate from the book? I think so, I read the book three times but not in the last dozen years so I forgot much of it.
Doesn't matter though, the movie was solid. Some critics just need to cut another membership card for another field from the back of a new cereal box.
