While as a self admitted Dark Towers dweeb I admit I might be biased, but I thought it was great. I thought the casting was great for both The Gunslinger and The Man in Black, and it sets up the sequels very well.
I would have loved if they could have stayed closer to the books, but that's never the case with movies.
