This is what you get when you have a narrow minded vision from the executives at Sony, poor casting, and especially the dismal directing. If this series had been done correctly it could have easily been a series with as much popularity as Lord of the Rings.
To try and do 8 novels in a single movie seriously undermines the quality of the books and the small minds of all involved. I love Idris and Matthew but they were just not the right people for these roles.
I can't believe SK let Sony ruin a book series with such potential and a large cult following.
