Why does everyone hate this? It is an epic tale of the ultimate evil being taken on by the forces of good. I think everyone is excellent. A lot of great parallels to stories of the devil we know without being sacrilegious or trite.
It is also a great addition to the Stephen King mythos Is it an IT? No. But I do see how it ties together well into that world. A great fantasy adventure with all the magical touches that we expect from a work linked to King.
