Having read the series multiple times, as well as all of Stephen King's other books I thought the movie was pretty darn good. Especially since no one seems capable of making his books into good movies.
Shawshank, The Shining, The Green Mile being exceptions. If you've read the books and enjoyed them you should enjoy the movie. Lots of great Easter eggs for the sharp eyed Constant Readers.
