Review of The Dark Tower (2017) by Aj S — 03 Aug 2017
I bought the first book of The Dark Tower series and was really excited to see this with my friend who loves the books.
Let's just say I apologised to my friend after the credits rolled. I never felt so bad for a person watching a film then I did the opening night at 7:19pm.
The film, for as far as the first book goes, follows almost nothing in it, again I've only read the first book. I was looking forward to seeing certain parts of the book play out with Elba as the Gunslinger, but what we got was a PG-13 mess of a movie that should've been rated R.
As far as characters go, Ebla's gunslinger was the star, the kid was annoying, and the Man in Black was at first an interesting sorcerer until the final scene.
See it if you want, but don't expect the quality of the book.
