This movie really exceeded my expectations. As a fan of the books I was very weary of what they may do to the series I love so much. I went in with an open mind and I'm glad I did. They made a great start to what I hope will be a good franchise.
Remaining true to the charecters they spun a tale that in many ways similar to what I had envisioned changing on this journey through. The relationship development of Roland and Jake was beautiful. The Man in Black was just as gleefully twisted as ever.
The imagery was striking and the battle was epic. They made great work of bringing Roland's gunwork to life in a way that kept the ethereal feel you see in the books when he is in battle.
