Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Gordon H — 15 Jul 2016
Superb Ending to a Masterpiece Trilogy!
Originally Written July 20, 2012-- It has been eight years since Batman (Christian Bale), in collusion with Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman), vanished into the night. Assuming responsibility for the death of Harvey Dent, Batman sacrificed everything for what he and Gordon hoped would be the greater good. However, the arrival of a cunning cat burglar (Anne Hathaway) and a merciless terrorist named Bane (Tom Hardy) force Batman out of exile and into a battle he may not be able to win. Watching Christopher Nolan's three-part reimagining of the Dark Knight legend has been nothing short of spectacular. This new film is every bit as good as the previous two films and closes out the story in grand fashion. I was enthralled with how master storyteller Nolan wove threads through all three films that get resolved here in an epic, completely believable way. Well done. Must go!
