Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Tony B — 27 Feb 2015
The final chapter to the greatest comic book trilogy of all time. Bale gives his finest performance as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Tom Hardy had a daunting task following up the iconic portrayal of The Joker but he knocked it out of the park. He was the most intimidating villain I've ever seen. Our generations Darth Vader. This movie also has the most emotional scenes of the trilogy. The scene in the hallway between Bruce and Alfred was heartbreaking. Who will ever forget the scene in the cafe? Or the scene where Batman finally let's Jim Gordon know he was Bruces hero.
This was a game changing trilogy. The trilogy we needed just so happened to be the trilogy we deserved. What some people seem to forget is this was the happy ending we always wanted our favorite hero to get but never thought he would receive. Because in his world, just like ours, happy endings are hard to come by.
