Review of The Dark Knight Rises (2012) by Stephen A — 12 May 2016
Even though it is very difficult to follow A masterpiece such as The Dark Knight, Rises is still a very impressive conclusion to Nolan's Batman trilogy. Although flawed and displayed some examples of poor choreography, I like the direction this film went with the story.
Heath Ledger's Joker set an extremely high bar in the department of finding a suitable villain, and Bane didn't disappoint. His brute revolutionary agenda propelled the role into an experience of dread and fear for the viewer.
It's amazing how the ability to crush someone's skull with your bare hands can add a level of insanity in the mastermind. Would I change some things? Yes. But is this still a worthy addition to the Bale-era Batman? Absolutely yes.
