A noteworthy follow up to one of the greatest films of all time. The Dark Knight Rises has many substantial action set pieces while still maintaining a very bleak and depressing tone. It takes its time to build tension and establish its characters.
It even feels post apocalyptic at times and the climax was incredibly satisfying. However, the plot is a mixed bag and full of holes but I found myself so wrapped up in the characters and the story that it didn't matter that much to me.
