Review of The Dark Knight (2008) by Gordon H — 15 Jul 2016
Superb! The Late Heath Ledger Gives A Masterful Performance!
Originally Written July 25, 2008-- With the help of allies Lt. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and DA Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), Batman (Christian Bale) has been able to keep a tight lid on crime in Gotham City. But when a vile young criminal calling himself the Joker (Heath Ledger) suddenly throws the town into chaos, the caped Crusader begins to tread a fine line between heroism and vigilantism. "The Dark Knight" is superb! Christopher Nolan has delivered probably the greatest Batman film of all time. The acting is phenomenal as well. The late Heath Ledger, in particular, gives a masterful performance as the legendary Joker. I must admit, when I first heard Ledger had been cast, I had my doubts that he could actually pull it off. What a tragedy his incredible and inspiring acting talents have been snuffed out. I fully expect him to win a posthumous Best Supporting Actor award next spring.
