Until The Avengers came along, I would have said this was the best superhero movie ever. It still might be. People who don't even like superhero movies will like this. It's everything a Batman movie should be.
Heath Ledger was at his best in his role as The Joker. Solid writing. Solid directing. Tight editing. It's got it all.
