Review of The Dark Knight (2008) by Franz H — 20 Sep 2015
The best Batman flick of all time. The best super hero flick of all time. The best villian of all time (the Joker, Heath Ledger). Though the casting for most of the roles in this film was horrendous. Maggie Gyllenhaal for the leading lady whom everyone wants? You have to be kidding.
And Christian Bale as Batman? Again, you have to be kidding. But the dark gritty reality is such a welcome relief from so many fluffy, tongue-in-cheek superhero and spy movies. I just wish they would re-make it with a decent cast.
Except for Ledger (RIP) and Morgan Freeman, who always raises the bar in every movie by a few notches.
