Review of The Dark Crystal (1982) by Nick T — 08 Aug 2009
It is not often that you see a live action movie with no visible humans. This may very well be the only one I have seen. Having no humans is a fantastic approach to creating a truly unique world. And through that world, they presented a simple, but entertaining, quest story filled with strange characters.
My only big issue with the characters was how the two leads had very little personality, almost as if every line was spoken as serenely as possible, even in perilous situations. Fortunately, there was enough awesome to balance that out.
I miss puppets in movies.
