Review of The Dark Corner (1946) by David C — 01 Aug 2010
Lucille Ball co-staring in a dramatic role. If that doesn't motivate you to see it, I just don't know what to tell you. Really solid performances all the way through. And of course, being 40's Noir, is dripped in all the delicious symbolism and juxtaposition you could ask for.
Despite how good aspects of the film are, I wouldn't say it is a true stand-out in the Noir genre. The plot is just too dang straight forward and accessible, and the pacing is a little slow in a spot or two.
Not that The Dark Corner isn't well worth the watch for any Film Noir fan.
