Review of The Darjeeling Limited (2007) by Julien G — 28 Apr 2011
Offbeat and insightful, but if you are not a Wes Anderson fan will be totally turned off. Another self discovery journey type of movie but this time in India with a Wes Anderson twist. The movie is filled quirky characters and humor; interesting settings and wonderful mes en scene.
The camera work is also unique and makes the movie really engagging. The performances are top notch from the three leads especially from Brody who is new to the Wes Anderson world. I tend to describe those movies as experiences more than a regular film, and "The Darjeeling Limited" is a profound one.
