Sappy and manipulative, as in his earlier works. Tom Hooper is dedicated to filming of the classic and precious life possible form of historical figures. The performances are fine, but the script does not let any character tridimensionar.
Gerda Wagener, played by Alicia Vikander is, in fact, the central role of the film.
