Review of The Danish Girl (2015) by El_Jacko — 09 Jan 2016
It isn't truly terrible as I expected it would be, however The Danish Girl still feels too much like a vehicle for Eddie Redmayne and Alicia Vikander's ability to excessively cry a lot rather than a genuinely heartfelt exploration of experience of being transgender.
The film seems far too shallow and seems as if it was most likely made in order to garner praise (i.e Academy Awards) rather than to address an issue which Tom Hooper felt passionate about. Watchable but at times infuriating.
