Review of The Dancer Upstairs (2002) by Mary M — 06 Jun 2007
Captures the claustrophobic sense of approaching doom that the book had very well - though with less of the misogynistic sense of the embattled hero surrounded by selfish/vapid women that irritated in the book.
Great translation of universal narrative of political discontent, revolutionand repressive response in a specific context. Completely spellbinding watch.
