Review of The Damned United (2009) by Raja N — 23 Mar 2010
This is not really a soccer movie, but one of the greatest biopics of recent times. It's a look at the rise of Derby County under Brian Clough's management, and the fall of Leeds United under the same man.
What makes this movie really interesting is the very special character of Clough, played brilliantly by one of the best British living actors, Michael Sheen. The final confrontation between the two coaches is a masterfully written scene. And yes, Brian Clough was indeed the greatest football coach the england team never had. A shame.
