Review of The Da Vinci Code (2006) by Peter N — 18 Aug 2012
I really didn't like the book all that much. It was overrated and the film was over-hyped due to the controversy caused by the story. Therefore, I wasn't expecting much going into this film. That being said, it still managed to disappoint.
Maybe it's because I already knew everything that was going to happen, but I just couldn't pay attention to what was going on. Tom Hanks looks like he's only in it for the paycheck, and Ron Howard's direction, while not bad by any means, is lacking.
Super fans of Dan Brown's novels may find enjoyment in this film, but I don't see what the big deal is.
